Fans will be able to pick up Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna on July 7th. Interestingly enough, the English language home release has been announced before the Japanese one, which is unusual in the world of anime. This is most likely because the film was released in Japanese theaters before the Coronavirus hit. Fans who are stuck waiting for the release can always check out the incredible Digimon mod of Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna promises to be a nostalgic journey for fans of the original anime series. The film focuses on the original cast of Digimon, except all grown up. The crew discovers their bonds with their partner Digimon are fading as they grow older. As a new threat emerges, the crew will have to battle with their Digimon, even if this causes their bonds to fade even faster.

The Coronavirus has devastated the global economy, and the anime industry has been hit particularly hard. Some studios have been shutting down, and series like Pokemon are on hiatus until the virus recedes. As of now it’s unclear what the long term effects this pandemic will have on the industry, but they could be devastating.

Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna will be available on Blu-ray and DVD July 7th, 2020
