RELATED: Every Digimon in Digimon Survive (& How to Befriend Them)
Unfortunately, befriending Dokugumon is a bit more challenging than recruiting some of the other ‘mons in Digimon Survive, due both to the way that it communicates and the low chances of it agreeing to become friends. It’s worth persevering, however, as Dokugumon is an excellent option for the early stages of the game and is able to Digivolve into more powerful forms as the main story goes on.
How to Befriend Dokugumon in Digimon Survive
Befriending Dokugumon is a little bit like befriending Numemon, in that players will typically be responding to the giant spider with actions rather than words. That said, there are one or two instances where Dokugumon uses basic speech, at which point players should respond in kind. As with other Digimon, players will need to end the conversation with at least three points if they’re to have any chance of befriending Dokugumon.
When it comes to the best Dokugumon responses, players should bare in mind that this is a Digimon that respects bravery and dislikes those who back down. As such, standing one’s ground is usually the best course of action, though there may be times when players are forced to act to keep the Digimon’s attention. For those still having trouble befriending Dokugumon, the best responses to its actions and statements can be found in the table below.
Where to Find Dokugumon in Digimon Survive
Although players will first encounter Dokugumon in Part 1 as part of the main story, the first chance that they’ll have to befriend it comes early on in Part 3 once players enter the Free Action section. From that point onward, it will start to show up in “Free Bat.” areas, including the one in the School Area. If players want to get their hands on Dokugumon a little earlier they can always Digivolve a Gotsumon, though given how rare Mature Enlightenment Slabs are during the early stages of the game, doing so would arguably be a bit of a waste.
Digimon Survive is available on PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
