Since releasing earlier this month, Dreamlight Valley has seen comparisons to Animal Crossing. While both games are within the life-sim genre, Disney’s game mixes this with an adventure aspect that showcases characters from the House of Mouse’s rich animated history. The game’s character creation menu is designed to allow players to create their own life-like avatars to immerse themselves within Dreamlight Valley. One fan however had other ideas when they recreated the main villain from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Redditor kalkvand has re-created Dr. Eggman, AKA Dr. Robotnik, with the recent live-action portrayal by Jim Carrey serving as inspiration for the character. The iconic villain comes complete with a bald head and thick mustache and uses a red swashbuckling jacket, white gloves, and goggles to complete the look. The comments under the user’s post are positive and show that the mustachioed character is a hit, with many replies supporting the evil genius’s first appearance in a Disney game.

This isn’t the first time that Dreamlight Valley’s character creator tool has been used to bring several other recognizable characters to the game. While the Little Mermaid appears in a non-playing capacity, Ariel appears as a playable character within Dreamlight Valley thanks to a dedicated fan who wanted to recreate the famous rock scene from the movie.

Character customization tools are often used as a source of creativity among players, as they can create characters from other franchises that would not necessarily be possible otherwise. One Elden Ring fan recreated Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher series to play through the game as The White Wolf himself.

Disney Dreamlight Valley launched in Early access across all consoles and PCs at the beginning of September and has seen numerous announcements already. During the D23 Disney and Marvel games event, developer Gameloft confirmed new Toy Story content will be added into Dreamlight Valley by the end of 2022. A Founder Pack version of the game is currently available that includes a host of extras alongside the main game, including in-game currency known as Moonstones and exclusive items and special animal companions. Disney’s latest game will become free-to-play when the full game is released in 2023.

Disney’s Dreamlight Valley is available in Early Access for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
