It bears repeating that this is a tentative plan for reopening from Disney. The plan will need to be reviewed and approved by both the state and local governments before Disney will be able to move forward with it. California’s governor has, at the very least, shown a willingness to continue opening up the state going into July. For example, California is allowing movie theaters to open across the state starting this Friday, June 12.

If approved, Disneyland’s reopening will start rolling out July 9 with the park’s Downtown District of cafes and shops. The parks themselves will follow on July 17. The last part of the rollout will be on July 23, as both the Disney Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and the Disney Paradise Pier Hotel open for guests.
While many in California, as well as throughout the USA, are undoubtedly looking forward to Disneyland reopening, it’s not without its risks. The state is nearing over 140,000 cases of COVID-19 and 5,000 resulting deaths. And while its per capita cases are low, just 353 cases per 100,000 Californians, the state is one of the country’s few where daily cases continue to grow at a dangerous rate.
COVID-19 or not, however, businesses including Disneyland continue moving forward with fully reopening.
