Wisconsin-Whitewater has appeared in nine of the past 10 Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowls, winning six national championships during the process. Former head coach Lance Leipold has moved to the University at Buffalo — along with four of his assistants — and Bullis has been promoted as his appearance.

“For the past 15 years I have known I wanted to be a head coach, so I have looked at opportunities to learn and have watched Lance,” Bullis says. “I looked at (him) manage games and programs. So, I’ve been a student of head coaching. I’m ready.”

Wisconsin-Whitewater enters the season on a 32-game winning streak. The Warhawks don’t start the season as the Sporting News No. 1 team, but they’re not far off.
