ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently reported that DK Metcalf could be had for the the “right price” with the Seahawks and their star receiver seemingly at an impasse in contract extension talks.
According to a new report, the sticker price could be very, very expensive. According to radio personality Howard Eskin, the Jets offered the No. 10 overall pick for the Seahawks wide receiver, which Seattle turned down.

The fact that New York is still in on a wideout isn’t a surprise, considering general manager Joe Douglas had made as much known in recent weeks.
The Jets were entrants in the Tyreek Hill sweepstakes, but offered their two second-round picks as opposed to their No. 10 overall pick in the deal.
According to pick value charts, the Jets’ No. 10 overall pick is worth 1,300 points this year, while the combination of picks 35 and 38 combined at 1,070 points, which is a hefty jump in value. It’s difficult to see why the Jets would offer that much more for Metcalf than Hill, outside of valuing Metcalf’s age (24) as opposed to Hill (28).
Still, if the report of the denial is legitimate, then Gang Green is still big-game hunting — and Seattle isn’t taking the bait on any Metcalf trades just yet.
