Juan Martin del Potro, Milos Raonic and Pablo Carreno Busta advanced before the heavens opened up on more than one occasion. Former world number one and 10th seed Djokovic lost the first set 6-2 but rallied to win the second 6-3 before a rain delay. The rain stopped briefly as Djokovic broke fifth seed Dimitrov for a 2-1 lead in the third and deciding set but proceedings were eventually halted for good until Friday....

Bidding for an outright record seventh men’s title in Miami, top seed Djokovic survived a brief scare to get past Delbonis 7-5 4-6 6-1. Dillon Homol, 22 and from Florida, was detained by federal agents on Tuesday. The FBI said they received two tips identifying Homol as one of the rioters inside the Capitol, both of whom were former classmates who told officers that the suspect was streaming to Facebook Live while storming the building. Both witnesses sent detectives video recordings from Homol’s Facebook profile, Facebook Live videos, and Snapchat story, which allegedly showed him inside and around the Capitol building from around 3 p....

Hell ants are known from amber deposits that date back between 78 and 100 million years ago. They have been found in Canada, France and Myanmar. They are unusual insects that had anatomical features unlike any species living today. One, for example, is known as Linguamyrmex vladi, or “Vlad the Impaler,” named so because it used a horn on its head to impale prey. “The head anatomy of hell ants is totally distinct from the 15,000 ant species we know of today,” Phillip Barden, from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, who studies hell ants, told Newsweek....
